About The Position

KIPP Columbus is seeking a dedicated educator with a track record of instructional excellence to join their team. This role involves delivering effective, rigorous instruction through an anti-racist lens, producing high-quality results and student understanding. The teacher will be responsible for internalizing and delivering engaging lesson plans, collaborating with teams, building a positive classroom culture, managing classroom behavior, and fostering inclusive environments for students and families. Additionally, the role requires active participation in staff meetings, professional development, and daily school functions, as well as embracing feedback and meeting professional obligations.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Required
Current Ohio Teaching License or willingness and ability to pursue certification by start date Required
1 or more years of lead teaching experience, or has a degree in education Required
Belief that outstanding school leaders, staff, and teachers can achieve excellent outcomes for all students.
Ability to persevere with a sense of optimism, strong problem solving skills, and desire to learn and grow in a collaborative professional learning community.
Willingness, and commitment, to go above and beyond to prove the possible with students.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

Internalize, high-quality, challenging, and engaging lesson plans using provided curriculum resources to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
Collaborate with content and grade-level teams to promote an environment of critical thinking and academic rigor.
Build a classroom culture that empowers students, affirms their identities, and creates a sense of belonging for all students.
Implement the school-wide and classroom management policies and practices.
Create a responsive and inclusive environment for parents and families.
Establish and maintain working relationships with students and families based on trust and respect.
Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and team meetings.
Participate in the daily functions of the school such as morning, lunch, and afternoon supervisory duties.
Embrace and incorporate feedback in the spirit of constant improvement.
Meet professional obligations including timeliness and consistency in meeting deadlines.
