About The Position

This position involves assisting the head coach in preparing student athletes for competition in boys' high school basketball. The role focuses on instructing skills, strategies, and training to foster individual and team success, while instilling values such as pride, self-discipline, self-confidence, and good sportsmanship. The assistant coach will serve as a positive role model, demonstrating trust and integrity, and will collaborate with various stakeholders within the school community. Responsibilities also include assisting with the off-season program and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

Knowledge of high school basketball and WIAA rules
Possess a current CPR/First Aid card or have the ability to complete certification upon hire
Must be at least 18 years of age
Demonstrate enthusiasm, flexibility, and commitment to students
Successful completion of fingerprinting and background check upon employment
Successful completion of WIAA rules clinic and concussion training upon employment

Nice To Haves

Previous high school coaching/basketball coaching experience preferred
Certificated personnel preferred

Responsibilities

Prepare student athletes for competition through the instruction of skills, strategies and training necessary to realize individual and team success.
Provide instruction that will lead to the pride of accomplishment, self-discipline, self-confidence, and good sportsmanship.
Consciously model the values of trust and integrity; be a positive role model for students.
Ability to work with a team and communicate with supervisor, administrators, staff, students, and community members in a positive manner.
Assist with off-season (summer) program.
Other duties as assigned.
