About The Position

The High School Apprenticeship provides students with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a real manufacturing environment while continuing their high school education. Working alongside the Technical Engineering team at our Morristown facility, students will gain exposure to manufacturing operations, workplace safety, quality standards, teamwork, and continuous improvement concepts. This program is designed to provide meaningful work experience and introduce students to potential career opportunities in manufacturing and technical fields. Students must be at least 16 years of age at the time they join the team.

Requirements

  • Current high school student
  • At least 16 years old at the time you join the team
  • Interested in gaining hands-on experience in manufacturing and Technical Engineering
  • Can work a flexible schedule based on your school's co-op requirements
  • Available to work up to 20 hours per week
  • Able to stand and perform physical activities throughout your scheduled shift
  • Capable of lifting as required throughout the shift
  • Willing to learn and follow manufacturing safety and quality requirements
  • Can follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
  • Dependable, willing to learn, and interested in developing professional workplace skills

Responsibilities

  • Gain hands-on experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Work alongside experienced team members within the Technical Engineering department.
  • Learn and follow manufacturing safety rules, procedures, and expectations.
  • Learn the importance of workplace safety and safe manufacturing practices.
  • Gain experience working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Learn manufacturing quality standards and how quality impacts production.
  • Gain exposure to continuous improvement concepts and practices.
  • Learn and participate in workplace organization practices such as 5S.
  • Gain exposure to Focused Improvement and other continuous improvement activities.
  • Assist the Technical Engineering team with appropriate tasks and projects as assigned.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Follow instructions and established workplace procedures.
  • Build professional workplace skills, including communication, dependability, teamwork, and time management.
  • Gain valuable experience that could potentially lead to a full-time opportunity after high school graduation.
