Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree OR a willingness to enter a program financially sponsored by VCP within 30 days of hire
  • Charter License OR a willingness to obtain one within 60 days of hire (paid for by VCP)
  • Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
  • Strong desire to work within an innovative, urban educational program
  • Demonstrate a desire for working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.
  • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively; maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships
  • Eagerness and ability to receive and implement feedback from manager and peers
  • Ability to prioritize punctuality and attendance
  • Work collaboratively with parents/guardians, families, and other members of the community to involve them in academic activities and progress

Nice To Haves

  • Multilingual (Spanish) is a plus
  • Prior direct customer-service experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of No-Nonsense Nurturer and/or 4-Step Model for student behavior management helpful, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Works with the Assistant Principal of Academic Culture (AP) to lead student enrollment meetings and create schedules for new students
  • Update new student transcripts in Power School
  • Respond to staff referrals, parent/guardian communication, and student requests for schedule changes and academic support
  • Meets with all students 1 time a semester to review future goals, graduation progress and current grades to create action plans
  • Updates the academic probation (AcPro) roster by reviewing transcripts, report cards and eligibility changes, and communicates additions/removals.
  • Creates graduation plans and leads family meetings for AcPro students
  • Analyze students academic and behavior data to provide weekly interventions for AcPro students
  • Celebrate AcPro students who are showing progress towards graduation
  • Prepare for upcoming break schools by creating and distributing invitations and reaching out to families
  • Communicate all meetings, interventions, and follow-up actions in a timely manner to the appropriate staff members
