About The Position

Ahern is seeking a High Pressure Steam Boiler Technician to support projects throughout the North Central region of Wisconsin, including Stevens Point, Wausau, and surrounding areas. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of high-pressure steam systems in industrial and commercial settings. The technician will be responsible for inspecting, testing, maintaining, and repairing high-pressure steam boilers and associated equipment, continuously monitoring system performance to uphold safety and efficiency standards. This position involves identifying and resolving mechanical and system issues using technical drawings and diagnostic tools, performing both preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on boilers, pumps, valves, piping, and steam systems. The role also requires ensuring compliance with CSD1 regulations, state boiler codes, and union safety standards, maintaining accurate logs, and collaborating with engineers and plant personnel to optimize system performance. The technician will also respond to emergency calls and system shutdowns.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Steamfitter or Pipefitter Apprenticeship Program (union preferred)
  • Active membership in, or ability to join, the local Steamfitters Union
  • Strong understanding of high-pressure steam systems and blueprint reading
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with industrial/commercial boiler systems
  • Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in confined or elevated spaces
  • Comfortable working in high-temperature environments
  • Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods

Responsibilities
