About The Position

The tutor works with students in grades K-8 in small groups of students of five or less, who need additional academic support. The tutor works side by side with the classroom teachers and administrators to help students improve academic skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Ability to relate to children, teacher, and other school staff
• Knowledge of educational evidence-based best practices in education
• Ability to keep and maintain accurate records and meet deadlines
• Regularly talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
• Must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
• Must possess normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn, recall and apply certain practices and policies.
• Frequently sitting and/or remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time.
• Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Teacher licensure in grades K-8
