Part-Time High School English Tutor
About The Position
GradePower Learning Frisco West is seeking an upbeat, reliable, enthusiastic, and dynamic part-time High School English Teacher to work in a rewarding teaching environment. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about literature and helping students succeed in English, as well as understand their role in the community. Candidates must have a strong background in English and be comfortable teaching students in grades 9-12 at all levels. The role involves working as a teacher-tutor in our learning center, focusing on Reading & Writing skills. All lessons are pre-planned, so no lesson planning is required before class.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
- Strong knowledge of the current 11th to 12th grade English curriculum
- Some experience teaching/tutoring English
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Strong ability to guide students’ understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
- Must be able to commute to the Frisco West location
- Background check is mandatory
- Must reside within a short commute of the Teel & Main intersection area

- A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred
Responsibilities
- Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
- Teaching online and in-person simultaneously
- Following the GradePower Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Filling in post-lesson notes
- Completing daily student communication updates
- Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
- Helping students develop their self-confidence and self-esteem
