High-Density Sidewalk Program Manager
About The Position
Arlington County is one of five nationally recognized platinum Walk Friendly Communities [https://www.walkfriendly.org/communities/]. The Department of Environmental Services (DES) [https://www.arlingtonva.us/Government/Departments/DES] is responsible for ensuring safe, accessible sidewalks and is seeking a High-Density Sidewalk Program Manager. This position in the Water Sewer Streets (WSS) bureau will oversee the delivery of the County’s high-density pedestrian concrete maintenance program. The program seeks to maintain approximately 82 miles of urban sidewalks including commercial and high-density residential properties in a state of good repair. The incumbent will coordinate extensively with property owners, tenants, condo associations, and Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), while ensuring that work meets County standards, adheres to applicable codes, and complies with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
