About The Position

The Host/Cashier position supports F&B Supervisors and the Restaurant Manager by greeting and seating guests, handling money transactions for products and services, managing server station rotation, wait times, and clearing tables. The role also involves processing check transactions. The position aims for optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximizes profits through assigned duties. It also contributes to the development of menus and Standard Operating Procedures for safe and efficient food preparation. This role specifically excludes any functions related to casino gambling by patrons.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Ability to work with Co-workers and Management in a casino restaurant environment, involving high volume or gourmet, fast paced production in a friendly and professional manner
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols
Involved in daily professional communication
Math skills
Ability to multi task
Basic food, beverage knowledge, such as fluid measurements, size, shape, color, price, portion size, etc. as defined by hiring management
Money handling experience with credit card and cash transactions
Ability to demonstrate and ensure that daily work performed is conducted within HACCP guidelines
Required to comply with safe and hazard free work environment practices stipulated in Horseshoe Indianapolis, County/State/Federal Department of Health and OSHA policies, procedures and regulations
Certified in Serve Safe Food Sanitation
Certified in Serve Safe Alcohol Awareness
Indiana State approved Alcohol Training
Hold an Indiana ATC (Alcohol & Tobacco Commission) License
Hold an IHRC (Indiana Horse Racing Commission) Occupational License

Greet guests
Seat guests
Rotate guests through server stations
Manage wait times
Perform side work
Process payment in the form of cash, credit card, comp, travelers check, player’s club points
Assist with Table Reset as needed per specifications
Maintain standards of kitchen sanitation and cleanliness, as well as the safe handling of food & beverage products
Communicate on a consistent basis with supervisor keeping them abreast of all department activities
Ensure that bar and equipment are in good working order and that the work area is clean and hazard-free
Notify supervisor immediately if bar and equipment are not in good, safe working order
