The High Country Program Administrator serves as the on-site Graduate Medical Education (GME) leadership presence for the Boone and Linville region. This role is responsible for managing program operations and fostering regional relationships, while also coordinating with the central GME office leadership. The administrator will oversee program-level operations for Family Medicine, General Surgery (Watauga rural track), Sports Medicine, and Psychiatry residency/fellowship programs, including schedules, evaluations, clinical assignments, and resident/fellow logistics. They will act as the primary institutional point of contact for program directors, residents, fellows, and faculty in the region, addressing operational issues, facilitating support, and escalating concerns as needed. Additionally, the role involves co-leading program-level initiatives such as recruitment, retention, wellness, scholarship, and quality improvement in partnership with program directors and the GME office. The administrator will also represent GME leadership at clinical sites, build relationships with facility leadership and attendings, and ensure ACGME compliance across all regional programs.
