About The Position

CTG is seeking a High Availability Mainframe Developer for a client. This is a remote, 12-month position developing, maintaining, enhancing, and supporting business-critical mainframe applications in a high-availability environment. The role includes analyzing requirements, implementing application code and configuration changes, providing Tier III production support, and troubleshooting complex mainframe issues. The developer will test changes, prepare implementation and rollback documentation, investigate escalated production incidents, document resolutions and corrective actions, and maintain application runbooks and operational documentation. Working with the High Availability Scrum Team, the developer will contribute to development, testing, and production support deliverables, participate in Agile ceremonies, provide status updates, address code review feedback, and ensure work meets coding standards and acceptance criteria.

Requirements

Strong hands-on development experience with Assembler, CICS, and COBOL.
Expertise in mainframe application troubleshooting, debugging, and production support.
Knowledge of application testing, implementation, and change management processes.
Ability to perform root-cause analysis and resolve complex technical issues.
Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
Demonstrated experience developing and supporting mainframe applications in complex, high-availability environments.
Experience resolving production incidents, implementing application enhancements, and providing Tier III support.
Experience working within an Agile/Scrum team and delivering changes in accordance with established quality standards.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group.

Nice To Haves

Preferred experience with FIS Systems, Connex, JCL, DB2, Agile/Scrum, or core banking and financial services applications.
Relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
