About The Position

As a HBM Customer Systems Validation Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for system-level validation, failure analysis, characterization, and experimentation of customer systems. This includes running and configuring diagnostic software, building experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, crafting custom tools (Hardware and Software), and presenting data to customers both inside and outside Micron. You will also provide technical customer integration support at customer locations, utilizing equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, and multi-meters. The role involves working with customers and memory enablers like GPU manufacturers to achieve build wins and qualifications of Micron memory products in their applications. You will collaborate with other specialists within the HBM team, Product Engineering, FAE, Quality Assurance, and business unit teams. Additionally, you will apply diagnostics to reproduce failures, collaborate with Product Engineering and Return Material Authorization (RMA) for 8D or failure documentation, and develop and modify hardware that controls test parameters like temperature or voltage. Communicating results with multi-functional teams and customers is a key aspect of this position.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (or an equivalent field) with proven ability or 2-4 years of experience respectively
  • Balanced hardware and software skills
  • Comfortable working and programming with Linux, Python/C/C++
  • Experience with version control systems (git, svn)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Good communication, data analytics and presentation skills
  • Basic understanding of DRAM operations and computer networking

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in bios/Linux driver development/debug
  • Understanding of system architecture and memory subsystem
  • Comfortable working with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzer, protocol analyzers, soldering equipment, etc
  • Previous experience validating products with both hardware/firmware/software components

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for system-level validation, failure analysis, characterization, and experimentation of customer systems
  • Run and configure diagnostic software, build experiments, analyze and interpret data, crafting custom tools (Hardware and Software), presenting data to customers both inside and outside Micron
  • Provide technical customer integration support at customer locations.
  • Use an assortment of equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, multi-meters, etc.)
  • Work with customers and memory enablers like GPU manufacturers to attain build wins and qualifications of Micron memory products in their applications
  • Work with other specialists within the HBM team, Product Engineering, FAE, Quality Assurance, and business unit teams
  • Provide technical support to customers and the field sales
  • Apply diagnostics to reproduce the original failure
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering and Return Material Authorization (RMA)
  • Provide 8D or failure documentation for customer failure resolution
  • Develop and modify hardware that controls test parameters (i.e. temperature or voltage)
  • Communicating results with multi-functional teams and customers
