About The Position

The HHP Field Service Diesel Technician completes preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on engines and related components at customer sites with minimal direction. This role is for a talented Diesel Technician to join the Distribution business in Avondale, AZ. The position offers a sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, competitive pay, and benefits. Key contributions include completing repairs on engine products in a service shop, performing maintenance and repairs using diagnostic tools, maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles, adhering to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies, engaging in ongoing development and certifications on new and existing Cummins products, and maintaining personal tools.

Requirements

  • Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics
  • Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
  • Demonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources
  • Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level
  • Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts
  • Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software
  • DOT medical card
  • DOT HOS and regulations
  • Frequent travel
  • Away from home for uncertain periods of time possible
  • Potential for shift work
  • A current valid license is required for this role
  • This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
  • This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
  • 3 years driving experience
  • This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
  • Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
  • This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements
  • This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing
  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
  • Locally valid driving permit
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations
  • Minimal level of workshop related experience required
  • Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
