About The Position

GE Hitachi is a leading designer of nuclear power plants, specializing in the development of the BWRX-300 Small Modular Reactor (SMR) for global deployment through large-scale capital projects. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Hexagon Senior SPI / SPEL Administrator to join our dynamic team. The Hexagon Senior SPI / SPEL Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining the SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) and SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL) systems, ensuring optimal performance and integration with other engineering tools. This role involves collaborating with various departments and customers to support instrumentation & electrical design and data management processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college OR a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years of experience
  • 8 years of experience with the full suite of Hexagon tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in other Hexagon tool sets to include 3D, SPF, SDX, or P&ID
  • Experience with setting up new environments and replicating designs
  • Familiar with ISO 19650 suite of standards.
  • Have a sound working knowledge of Common Data Environments.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain the Hexagon SPI / SPEL systems, including user access, system configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Lead the integration efforts for SPI / SPEL with other engineering design tools and systems by engaging engineering and customer stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement SPI / SPEL workflows and procedures to enhance efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Develop and deliver training to SPI / SPEL users.
  • Perform regular system audits and updates to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Generate and analyze reports from SPI / SPEL to support project management and decision-making.
  • Stay updated on latest SPI / SPEL features and advancements to continuously improve system utilization.
  • Support the team with the initial project setup in accordance with internal, industry and client standards and ensuring these standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensuring information management protocols and standards are adhered to.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders and partners in terms of their role within the BIM process.
  • Creation and maintenance of federated models throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Support technical staff to ensure that they are provided with the information, software, hardware, training, and technical support they require to ensure delivery of BIM data to project requirements.
  • Uses technical experience and analytical thinking.
  • Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
