Requirements

• Love of the outdoors and the ability to work and hike in rugged terrain
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
• Ability to operate with limited remote supervision
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Availability and desire to travel throughout the utility service area
• Valid Driver’s License with clean DMV driving record and ability to drive and operate a UTV
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Pennsylvania Pesticide Applicator License or the ability to obtain within 6 months (assistance available for educational material and licensing fees)

Responsibilities

• Plan and apply herbicide to utility right-of-ways
• Maintain electronic spray logs to record the amount and types of herbicide used, as well as the coverage area
• Inspect and assess vegetation in right-of-ways for compliance standards and construction work plans
• Communicate with homeowners regarding work on or near their property
• Identify tree and brush control work and protection zone recommendations
• Coordinate with project managers, work planners, and vegetation crews to create customized solutions
