About The Position

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Saddleback Medical Center. The employee shall support Saddleback Medical Center’s strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities. The Hemodynamic Technologist is responsible for providing surgical assistance in a safe, appropriate and effective manner under the direction of a Registered Nurse/MD, in compliance with the standards of practice. Additional responsibilities include but not limited to provision of availability/maintenance of equipment, adherence to aseptic technique, advanced knowledge of anesthesia procedures and support to patient flow within department. Provides support and communicates directly with surgical team and supervisory staff. The Hemodynamic Technologist must use effective oral communication and participate in aspects of documentation. In addition, the Hemodynamic Technologist collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and effective patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Three years hemodynamic tech or Respiratory Therapist experience required
  • Completion of Hemodynamic program or Respiratory program required
  • Proficient in medical terminology
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist/RT Licensure required or Certified Anesthesia Technologist designated by the American Society of Anesthesia (ASATT) required
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support Card required
  • Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Card Required

  • Computer, internet, order entry and word processing experience preferred
