About The Position

Join a team dedicated to delivering exceptional care to patients with acute and chronic kidney disease. As an Inpatient Certified Hemodialysis Technician at Scripps Health, you'll play a vital role in providing safe, evidence-based dialysis treatments to hospitalized patients while making a meaningful difference in their recovery and quality of life. Working alongside experienced nurses and a collaborative interdisciplinary team, you'll provide specialized dialysis care, educate patients and their families on disease management, and help support the development of fellow technicians through precepting and mentorship. You'll practice in accordance with Scripps Health standards, California Department of Public Health regulations, and hospital policies while contributing to our culture of clinical excellence and compassionate care. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience as a Certified Hemodialysis Technician in a dialysis setting.
  • Current California Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) certification.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing inpatient hemodialysis care in an acute care hospital.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely and competently perform apheresis treatments.
  • Experience precepting or mentoring new hemodialysis technicians.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient education skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
