About The Position

An associate who, under the supervision of a registered nurse, is trained to prepare, operate and maintain hemodialysis equipment and assist in the care of patients undergoing hemodialysis treatments. Works with Dialysis RNs to provide safe and effective dialysis services.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Previous health care experience as a CNA, EMT, Medical Assistant, etc., upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

  • Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician, within 6 - months
  • Certified Nursing Assistant: TN, within 6 - months
  • Emergency Medical Technician: TN, within 6 - months

  • Certified Medical Assistant AAMA, within 6 - months
  • Certified Medical Assistant NHA, within 6 - months
  • National Certified Medical Assistant NCCT, within 6 - months
  • National Registered/Certified Medical Assistant NAHP, within 6 - months
  • Registered Medical Assistant AMT, within 6 - months

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, operate and maintain hemodialysis equipment.
  • Assist in the care of patients undergoing hemodialysis treatments.
  • Provide safe and effective dialysis services.
  • Use of general patient care and communication equipment such as nurse call pager system; EMR; Bed Tracking System; all equipment used to monitor patient’s vital signs, including all patient scales.
  • Good communication skills including pleasant phone manner, and good patient care techniques.
