Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in OR.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Hemodialysis Staff RN in a healthcare setting.
  • Active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association preferred).
  • Strong clinical assessment skills.
  • Strong IV insertion skills.
  • Strong medication administration skills.
  • Strong emergency response skills.
  • Understanding of renal physiology, causes and progression of kidney disease, and principles of hemodialysis.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct.
  • Ability to comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Correctional healthcare experience preferred.
  • Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) or other relevant certifications may be preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a correctional facility.
  • Familiarity with security protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care as a Hemodialysis Registered Nurse.
  • Administer medications.
  • Perform IV insertion.
  • Respond to emergencies.
  • Adhere to facility correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information.
  • Uphold integrity and professionalism in accordance with a Code of Conduct.
