About The Position
The Hematology & Oncology Physician provides clinical care in inpatient and outpatient settings in Edmonds, Washington. The role includes a Monday–Friday schedule from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with Thursday designated as an administrative day, and weeknight and weekend beeper call coverage. The coverage period is ASAP and ongoing. The position is locum tenens, covering a vacancy during a long-term permanent search. The average daily patient volume is 20. The facility uses Epic EMR and has support staff including 40 RNs, 6 MAs, 3 PAs/NPs, and 7 office staff. Hospital privileges are required, and temporary privileges are available. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered by the agency; malpractice insurance is provided by the vendor.
Requirements
- Board certification (BC) is required.
- An active Washington license or Universal License (IMLC) is required.
- DEA registration is required.
- BLS certification is required.
- Hospital privileges are required; temporary privileges are available.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care in inpatient and outpatient settings, including new consults, follow-ups, and chemotherapy management.
- Oversee and manage treatment plans for patients with blood disorders and solid tumors, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive care.
- Round on hospitalized patients, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in weeknight and weekend beeper call coverage for urgent oncology and hematology issues.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic EMR in accordance with facility protocols and regulatory requirements.
