Hematology & Oncology NP/PA
About The Position
This is a locum tenens position for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Hematology & Oncology. The role is based in an outpatient setting in Eureka, CA, focusing on clinical duties only. The coverage period is from September 1, 2026, ongoing, with a Monday to Friday schedule from 8 am to 5 pm, including a 1-hour unpaid lunch. The position is supplemental and requires the NP/PA to provide comprehensive outpatient hematology/oncology care, manage chemotherapy patients, collaborate with the oncology treatment center, document encounters using Epic EMR, and work with an interdisciplinary team. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered by the agency.
Requirements
- Board Certified/Board Eligible (BC/BE)
- Valid California (CA) License
- Active DEA License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Minimum 2 years of current hospital clinical activity in specialty
- Clean file required for temporary privileges
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive outpatient hematology/oncology care to patients.
- Manage chemotherapy patients and collaborate with oncology treatment center.
- Document patient encounters and medical records using Epic EMR.
- Participate in clinic schedule including 8-hour shifts with one-hour unpaid lunch.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team including nursing, MAs, and PAs/NPs.
