About The Position
The West Virginia University Health System, the state’s largest health system and largest private employer, comprises 18 hospitals throughout the state and bordering states. In addition, it includes five institutes, as well as providing management services for other local hospitals through affiliate agreements. WVUHS Medical Group seeks a Hematology/Oncology Medical Director to practice in South Charleston, WV. The successful candidate will practice General Hematology and Medical Oncology at Thomas Memorial Hospital and will serve as the region’s Medical Director. This position serves to promote the highest level of patient care while also developing, leading, and advocating for staff members. As a full member of our WVU Health System, Thomas Memorial Hospital is part of a broad, integrated network of doctors, hospitals, clinics, and specialized institutes.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
- Eligible for state medical license.
- Completed an Internal Medicine residency program.
- Completed a Hematology/Oncology fellowship program.
- Board certified/eligible.
- All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
Responsibilities
- Practice in the area of Hematology/Oncology.
- Serve as the region’s Medical Director.
- Promote the highest level of patient care.
- Develop, lead, and advocate for staff members.
