About The Position

The Hematology Laboratory Technologist works in the Hematology/Core Laboratory under the direct supervision of a supervisor. The role performs a variety of complex and routine tests in the Core Laboratory while complying with all safety and regulatory requirements. The technologist rotates weekends and scheduled holidays based on departmental needs and collaborates with other departments across the institution to provide high-quality patient care.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an approved program.
• Certification as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist by the New York State Education Department.
• One year of relevant laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of complex and routine tests within the Core Laboratory.
• Comply with all safety and regulatory requirements.
• Rotate weekends and scheduled holidays based on departmental needs.
• Participate in interdepartmental collaboration to provide high-quality patient care.
