About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join its team in Tampa, Florida. The role performs hematology laboratory testing and related technical functions to support accurate, timely results and quality patient care. The schedule is Wednesday through Saturday, 4:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
Hematology MT State License.
Understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Computer proficiency and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.

Nice To Haves

At least 3 months of clinical laboratory testing experience.
ASCP or AMT certification.
Experience working in a high-volume laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

Determine whether specimens are acceptable for testing according to established criteria.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
Make technical decisions related to testing and problem-solving.
Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Report accurate and timely test results.
Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as needed.
Assist with specimen processing when needed.
Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
