This role assists the NYCEAC’s Elder Abuse Helpline offer the following services to concerned persons: trauma informed counseling and emotional support to ease uncertainty, anxiety, and stress; identification and discussion of concerns and needs; guidance to help plan next steps; accurate information and education about elder abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation; and appropriate and timely referrals with the goals of decreasing a concerned person’s own distress and increasing their capacity to be a support to victims of elder abuse. This position also includes development of an outreach strategy for publicizing the Helpline’s services and developing materials to reach concerned persons reflecting the diversity of New York’s diverse populations.
