About The Position

Your Role & Responsibilities Job Summary To safely perform the tasks assigned by Site Management as they relate to chemical handling, shipping, receiving, storing, blending and packaging in accordance with procedures that conform to all corporate and local policies, programs and budget. Job Description Performs role in a manner that is reflective of Brenntag’s Core Values, within regulatory requirements and company policies, programs and expectations; Ensures a safe work environment at all times, reporting unsafe conditions immediately to Site Management; Checks production orders or production log. Obtains sufficient and correct supplies for each production run, and changeover when time permits. i.e. Labels, skids, and boxes etc. as directed by the Shift Supervisor/Lead Hand Person, Checks product to ensure it meets specified requirements affixes the correct product label, place boxes on skids when necessary to protect product, uses correct skids ensuring good skid geometry Records required data on production order the correct lot and code numbers when running orders, as indicated on production order Check hopper containers throughout the run to ensure adequate and correct supply and fill up hopper with material when needed Blow down extruder/pelletizer and turn on Extruder when order is ready to run Purge extruder when order is finished Place empty box on to scale place finished material into box Place full box onto scale, take sample into lab. Weighs and records scrap, Keeps nonconforming product segregated and immediately reports it to either the Lead Hand, or the Supervisor Keeps areas around extruder clean and tidy as per work instruction form Shift Supervisor/Lead Hand Supports and follows Brenntag’s ‘Job 7’ product shipment best practices initiatives; Completes other tasks and special projects as assigned by the Site Manager/Site Supervisor/ Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • Secondary School Diploma
  • Previous experience in an industrial or chemical handling environment (1-2 years)
  • Knowledge and/or training in TDG, WHMIS, Emergency Response, Forklift License
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and ERP systems would be considered an asset
  • Commitment to safety and past Joint Health & Safety Committee experience is considered an asset
