About The Position

The Helper performs duties and operations to assist drivers in completing customer routes, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service and adhering to all health and safety protocols. This is a physically demanding position that requires the ability to lift 50 pounds constantly throughout the day and work in fluctuating weather conditions. The role involves loading and emptying containers, maneuvering them, operating hoisting devices, and assisting the driver with backing maneuvers. The Helper must maintain a safe working environment, communicate professionally with customers and employees, and participate in training opportunities.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Legally eligible to work in the United States
Physical ability to lift 50lbs. constantly throughout the day
Ability to work under many different weather conditions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Outstanding relationship management skills
Dedication to providing excellent customer service
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment
Proven work ethic
Proven commitment to safety
Successful completion of pre-employment testing, including a drug screen

Responsibilities

Loads and empties residential and/or commercial containers into truck manually or mechanically.
Maneuvers containers that are staged curbside, dockside, carryout, or require pullout to service.
Operates hoisting device to lift and empty bins or containers into truck hopper.
Places serviced bins back at their original location, upright, with covers replaced.
Assists driver with all backing maneuvers while on route.
Loads trash and recycling into a rear load truck in fluctuating weather conditions.
Lifts 50 pounds constantly throughout the day while able to maintain the stamina to successfully complete the duties of this physically demanding position.
Maintains a safe working environment.

Communicates in a professional manner when dealing with customer and other employees.
Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales and services.
