About The Position

This role assists the Operator with machine changeovers and set-up, removing material from the machine, maintaining a rolling weight log, producing parts, and packaging. The Helper also maintains equipment as required and directed, while adhering to production, safety, and quality guidelines and procedures. This position works within well-defined instructions, uses established procedures, and works under supervision to perform assigned tasks. Work is closely supervised.

Requirements

Basic math skills.
Able to work in a hot, dusty environment while wearing appropriate PPE.
Required to be trained in LOTO and confined space entry.
Ability to communicate with the Supervisor and Lead.
Ability to apply good judgment, strong work ethics and integrity on the job.
Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
Requires ability to stand for long periods up to 8 to 10 hrs.
Requires repetitive movement, good eye/hand coordination, operation of hand tools, and power tools.
Job may require standing (up to 90%), walking (up to 10%), stooping or bending, reaching, twisting and turning.
May be required to lift, carry, and/or move up to 40 lbs.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a manufacturing/packaging/warehouse environment.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

Assist Operator with changeovers and set-up.
Remove material from machine and package.
Maintain a rolling weight log.
Produce parts.
Package parts.
Maintain equipment as required and directed.
Follow production, safety, and quality guidelines and procedures.
Fill in for lead as required.
Help to load raw material and sort and package finished goods.
Follow established procedures and setups.
Perform punching and labeling as assigned by machine operator or lead.
Report any unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, and product abnormalities immediately to operator, shift lead, and/or supervisor.
Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.
