About The Position

Wastequip is recruiting for a Helper/Cleaner/Finisher in our Tyler, TX location, who cleans, grinds, and sands surfaces of component and or finished raw product prior to painting. Pay rate: $14.51 1st shift: Monday - Friday: 6:00AM - 3:30PM

Requirements

• Ability to clean, grind, and sand surfaces of component and or finished raw product prior to painting.
• Ability to examine and feel surface of workpiece for defects.
• Ability to select abrasive wheel, or disk according to specifications, knowledge of abrasives, and condition of metal, and attach to grinder.
• Ability to start grinder and move it over surface of workpiece to remove scratches, laminated metal, excess weld material, and burs.
• Ability to polish ground areas with finer abrasive to produce smooth, unmarred surface.
• Ability to replace worn abrasive disks wheels.
• Ability to assist welders with non-welding functions in preparation for welding.
• Ability to set up weld table with material for welders.
• Ability to lift and load work materials into positions as directed using hoists, cranes, or forklift.
• Ability to assist welders in loading or moving heavy work pieces during work operations.
• Ability to perform sub assembly work as needed.
• Ability to use bracing and measurement tools.
• Ability to assist welders in bolting metal components.
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance of welding equipment and tools.
• Ability to clean workpieces as necessary with grinder or scraper.

• Experience operating hoists, cranes, or forklift.

Responsibilities
