About The Position

The Helper position involves performing a wide range of manual activities on an industrial construction site. This includes moving equipment, digging, retrieving equipment, standing by for fire safety, and any other tasks instructed by a supervisor or journeyman. The role requires the use of a fire extinguisher, climbing onto structures and scaffolding, and using rigging and hoisting devices to move equipment and materials. Additionally, the Helper will conduct preventative maintenance, such as lubrication and repairing worn parts, and follow directions from supervisors. Other duties as assigned are also part of the role.

Requirements

• Must be able to meet all physical demands.
• Must have experience using industrial hand tools and power tools.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to work 7 days as needed.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
• Good problem-solving abilities.
• Good aptitude and manual dexterity.
• Good reading comprehension.
• Ability to work with others – team player.
• Good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Perform a large range of manual activities including moving equipment, digging, retrieving equipment, standing by for fire safety, and any other work instructed by a supervisor or a journeyman.
• Use a fire extinguisher.
• Climb onto structures and scaffolding.
• Use rigging and hoisting devices such as chokers, chain falls, and come along to move equipment/materials into place.
• Conduct preventative maintenance such as lubrication and fixing or repairing worn parts.
• Follow directions from the supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
