About The Position

Responsible for working in general labor positions on the factory floor, which include bundling, stacking, loading, and unitizing on converting and corrugating machine centers, and filling trainee positions on the factory floor to learn specific tasks and responsibilities that come with setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining converting and corrugating machine centers. This role involves working safely in a factory environment, understanding corrugate stock, using measurement tools, performing various labor tasks, training on machinery, performing clean-up and preventative maintenance, conducting quality checks, and interpreting order information. The position also requires mathematical calculations for production data and adherence to shop rules and attendance policies within a union environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely in a factory environment, including proper wearing of Personal Protective Equipment and recognition/avoidance of potential hazards.
  • Adhere to all company safety regulations and participate in company safety programs.
  • Identify the specifics of corrugate stock, including flute, substrate, and liner variations.
  • Read and comprehend a standard and metric tape measure.
  • Work in general labor positions on the factory floor, including bundling, stacking, loading, and unitizing of corrugate material.
  • Perform hand manipulation, hand pack, and manual break apart of corrugate material.
  • Train as an operator, assistant operator, or machine helper on specific converting or corrugating machinery.
  • Perform clean up and preventative maintenance of the general factory, automated rails, and equipment.
  • Conduct quality checks of manufactured material to ensure it meets customer specifications.
  • Identify and remove non-conforming material from an active production line.
  • Interpret and understand order information presented on factory shop cards and specifications sheets.
  • Identify proper materials, parts, and tools as needed for specific orders and machine centers.
  • Satisfy or exceed production expectations on an hourly and daily basis.
  • Mathematically calculate and record production data as needed, and input production data into company-specific software programs.
  • Adhere to shop rules and attendance policy as per the union collective bargaining agreement.
  • Work as a productive team member in a union environment.
  • Follow instructions of plant supervision and management.
