About The Position

Responsible for working in general labor positions on the factory floor, which include bundling, stacking, loading, and unitizing on converting and corrugating machine centers, and filling trainee positions on the factory floor to learn specific tasks and responsibilities that come with setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining converting and corrugating machine centers. This role involves working safely in a factory environment, adhering to all company safety regulations, and participating in safety programs. The position requires identifying corrugate stock specifics, reading and comprehending tape measures, and performing various general labor tasks such as bundling, stacking, loading, and unitizing corrugate material. It also includes training as an operator, assistant operator, or machine helper, performing clean-up and preventative maintenance, conducting quality checks, and removing non-conforming material. Additionally, the role involves interpreting order information, identifying proper materials, and demonstrating the ability to meet production expectations. Mathematical calculations and data input into company software are also part of the responsibilities, along with adhering to shop rules and the union collective bargaining agreement, and working as a productive team member in a union environment.

  • Ability to perform clean up and preventative maintenance of the general factory, automated rails, and the converting, corrugating, and ancillary equipment.
  • Ability to conduct quality checks of manufactured material to ensure it meets customer specifications.
  • Ability to identify and remove non-conforming material from an active production line.
  • Ability to interpret and understand order information presented on factory shop cards and specifications sheets.
  • Ability to identify proper materials, parts, and tools as needed for specific orders and machine centers.
  • Demonstrated ability to satisfy or exceed production expectations on an hourly and daily basis.
  • Ability to mathematically calculate and record production data as needed, and input production data into company specific software programs.
  • Adherence to shop rules and attendance policy as per the union collective bargaining agreement.
  • Ability to work as a productive team member in a union environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions of plant supervision and management.
