As a Helper in the Operations and Construction Department for New York City, you will experience the personal challenge of working for a world class organization and leader in the Utilities and Energy Industry. The job purpose is to perform traffic control and flagging functions, and manual-laboring work such as digging, backfilling, breaking and removing pavement (asphalt/concrete). A Helper may work with heavy pneumatic tools, provide physical assistance for setting up and operating underground tools, and work with higher-classified personnel by performing laboring functions in connection with the higher classification. This includes strenuous work throughout the day, including squatting, walking, and lifting tools and materials greater than 80lbs. The role also involves performing similar or less-skilled work as assigned.
