About The Position

The Helper C is a union position responsible for routine upkeep of the apartment community, including buildings, amenities, and surrounding areas. The role helps maintain curb appeal and a welcoming impression for residents, guests, and on-site team members, while communicating effectively and professionally. Assigned tasks must be completed in a timely manner and may require operating tools and equipment in accordance with safety and operational standards.

Requirements

Ability to perform basic mathematical functions accurately.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, and occasionally climb; ability to meet the stated vision requirements.
Ability to detect auditory and/or visual alarms.
Availability to work extended or flexible hours, including some nights, weekends, and occasional holidays, as needed.
Regular attendance and active participation in planning and company functions and events.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and career growth through the company’s continuing education programs.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of Porter experience.
High school education or equivalent.
Beginner computer and Internet knowledge.
Ability to use on-site resident management software.

Responsibilities

Maintain grounds, amenities, building exteriors, the leasing office, parking lots, and community common areas, including meticulous upkeep and trash removal.
Assist with cleaning and preparing units, including removing trash from vacant apartments.
Complete weather preparation and cleanup as needed.
Organize, maintain, and use provided supplies cost-effectively.
Maintain an appearance appropriate to the company’s image.
Complete additional tasks or duties assigned by community leadership.
