About The Position

The City of Neenah is seeking a Help Desk / Computer Technician to provide technical support for City systems and applications; configure and support computer hardware and software; work with user departments to configure and troubleshoot software and hardware. The work is performed under the direction of the Information Systems Director.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field
  • 2 years professional information systems experience preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support across departments; escalates issues as needed
  • Installs, configures, and maintains end-user hardware and software
  • Manages inventory of devices, cables, and technology supplies
  • Develops knowledge base articles and end-user training materials
  • Assists with user accounts, environments, and network security access
  • Supports VoIP systems and mobile device management
  • Assists with staff training on applications and cybersecurity practices
  • Supports security tools, monitoring, and issue resolution
  • Assists with network connectivity, infrastructure, and troubleshooting (wired, fiber, wireless)
  • Cross-trains with team members to ensure coverage
  • Documents procedures and trains users on systems and processes
  • Maintains technical knowledge through ongoing training
  • Available for after-hours support and adheres to attendance expectations
