Helicopter Line Mechanic
About The Position
Responsible for ensuring program aircraft are maintained to airworthiness standards prescribed by applicable regulations, airworthiness directives, company policies, and industry best practices. This role involves performing daily inspections, documenting and repairing discrepancies, coordinating parts and maintenance scheduling, and maintaining a safe work environment. The position requires working in a patient care environment around aircraft and may involve exposure to infectious diseases, chemical toxins, non-conventional motion, noise, vibration, jet fumes, and extreme temperatures. The work environment is in or near aircraft and/or an aircraft hangar, with potential exposure to loud noise, fumes, gases, odors, dust particles, and mechanical/electrical hazards. Travel may be required.
Requirements
- FAA A&P License
- Thorough knowledge of and compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, Aeronautical Information Manual, Geisinger’s General Operations Manual guidelines, and General Maintenance Manual as applicable.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Minimum of 2 years of Related work experience
- Valid Driver's License
Responsibilities
- Ensuring program aircraft are maintained to airworthiness standards.
- Performing daily inspections to assigned aircraft.
- Performing reviews of aircraft and aircraft records.
- Documenting discrepancies and making repairs per applicable manuals.
- Performing repairs and maintenance activities to the assigned aircraft.
- Updating and maintaining maintenance manuals, service bulletins, parts books, and regulatory updates.
- Coordinating ordering, shipping, and receiving of parts, supplies, tooling and warranty claim parts.
- Coordinating aircraft maintenance scheduling.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
- Preparing and maintaining documentation related to work activities in accordance with regulations.
- Correcting any hazardous or unsafe practices and reporting them accordingly.
