About The Position

This is a public-facing, customer service-driven position within the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) of the Montana Department of Justice. The role involves greeting customers, answering questions, issuing various types of identification and driver's licenses (including Commercial Driver's Licenses), and overseeing the testing process for these licenses. The position requires attention to detail when using multiple software programs and ensuring the safety and well-being of Montana citizens by verifying identification documents, confirming successful test completion, and determining when additional documentation is necessary. The incumbent must be willing and able to work outdoors in inclement weather, travel to other exam stations 1-2 days a week, and be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • One year experience working with computerized data systems
  • One year customer service experience
  • One year of cash handling experience
  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver License (CDL) for testing and training purposes, within the first year

Responsibilities
