About The Position

Columbia Threadneedle Investments is seeking a Hedge Fund Implementation Director to lead the business management function for its growing hedge fund business. The role is suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes initiative, continues learning, and can prioritize work for themselves and others.

The Director oversees hedge fund trade order entry and complex transaction implementation, leads a team of 3 to 5 Portfolio Implementation Specialists/Portfolio Management Assistants, and represents the investment team in cross-functional initiatives. The position collaborates with internal business partners and supports portfolio management and implementation projects, including process automation. Employees work in the office at least four days per week, with flexibility to work from home one day per week.

The estimated base salary is $140,000–$160,000 per year. The role may also be eligible for variable compensation, including bonuses, commissions, and/or long-term incentives. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Experience in the asset management industry, including experience with equities and derivatives.
• Experience using investment technology systems, such as Bloomberg, Aladdin, accounting systems, or attribution systems.
• Experience leading high-performing teams.
• Ability to influence and collaborate with business partners at all levels to drive results.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently with limited direction, maintain attention to detail, and manage multiple tasks and projects effectively at the same time.
• Valid U.S. work authorization that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• Equity hedge fund experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with investment technology systems as a subject matter expert or system administrator is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee trade order entry for hedge fund and affiliated strategies, and develop and maintain procedures to ensure clean orders are received by the trading desk.
• Coordinate complex transactions across internal and external parties, including private equity transactions and complex derivatives trades.
• Lead a team of 3 to 5 Portfolio Implementation Specialists/Portfolio Management Assistants who create trade orders in the order management system based on portfolio manager instructions.
• Foster a collaborative, results-driven team culture; set performance expectations, conduct regular evaluations, and provide professional development opportunities.
• Represent the investment team in cross-functional change initiatives, including client onboarding, offboarding and maintenance, product implementations, and system implementations.
• Represent the investment team in dealings with business partners, including Compliance, Legal, Middle Office Operations, Products, Tax, Accounting, Reporting, and Performance.
• Lead or participate in ad hoc projects supporting portfolio management and implementation processes, including process automation.
