About The Position
This is structure and craft work in welding and the fabrication, modification, maintenance and repair of a variety of metal objects, fixtures, heavy vehicles/equipment and industrial scale equipment associated with construction related jobs. Work involves construction design, assembly, repair, and maintenance of a variety of metal materials and equipment. Duties include fabricating structures from blueprints and sketches, operating heavy vehicles and construction equipment, and providing oversight to others engaged in performing welding duties. Work is performed under general supervision.
Requirements
- Four (4) years of experience, education, and/or training in the maintenance, repair, and/or rebuild of automotive and/or construction equipment
- Two (2) years of experience working with heavy vehicle and construction equipment
- Class B CDL with air endorsements
- Class A & D inspection licenses
- Valid Class C State of Maine license
- Pass State paid Medical examination that includes a drug test
- Pass the Department’s Respirator fit test
- Pass the driver examination and road test for the assigned equipment
Nice To Haves
- Welding/fabrication experience on heavy construction vehicles
- Class E inspection license
