About The Position

Barnhill Contracting Company is seeking a Heavy Truck Mechanic to perform diagnostics, repair, and rebuild of all types of grading equipment, paving equipment, and dump trucks. This role involves performing diesel engine repairs, diesel engine rebuilds, and hydraulic systems repairs. The mechanic must be able to work effectively in both shop and field environments.

Requirements

5 to 10 years of experience in diesel engines and major repair/rebuild.
Must own all tools needed to perform the duties of a construction equipment mechanic.
Must have a valid NC Driver License and acceptable driving record.
Willingness to learn and be a team player.
Ability to abide by precise instructions and maintain a good attendance record.
Ability to abide by strict, but necessary, safety rules and policies.
Must be a reliable and trustworthy individual that will be a team player.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics, repair and rebuild of all types of grading equipment, paving equipment and dump trucks.
Perform diesel engine repairs, diesel engine rebuilds and hydraulic systems repairs.
Perform various skilled tasks such as engine, hydraulics and electronics diagnostics and repairs on many types of heavy equipment.
Repair equipment in an organized shop or perform repair work in the field.
Work long hours as needed.
