About The Position

Fortis Native Group LLC is interviewing for the position of Part-Time/On-Call Heavy Truck Driver on our contract at the Anniston Army Depot. In this position duties will include but may not be limited to the following. Heavy Truck Driver will use your subject-matter knowledge and judgment to complete varied assignments. Will solve problems by adapting or interpreting substantive guides, manuals, or procedures.

Requirements

  • 1+ years’ experience in operating fuel bulk storage and distribution systems and equipment.
  • Must possess continuously maintain a valid Class B w/Tanker, Air Brake, and Hazmat endorsements.
  • Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions and adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and be able to climb tank trucks to check levels.
  • Must receive favorable background and drug screen results.
  • Commercial drivers' license - CDL Class A w/Tanker, Air Brake, and Hazmat endorsements.
  • Applicants must receive favorable background and drug screen results and meet eligibility requirements for access to government computer systems and or facilities. Drug screens follow Federal guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, stores, transfers, and issues fuel through pipelines at main line or terminal stations.
  • Receives fuel by tanker, ships fuel by pipeline, tank car, tank truck, or barge.
  • Prepares and checks receiving or ship's documents.
  • Connects lines, grounding wires, and loading and off-loading arms or hoses to pipelines.
  • Visually inspects samples of fuel and checks gravity and flashpoint.
  • Gauges tanks for water, temperature, and fuel levels, checks pumping systems for correct operating pressure or unusual noises.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on terminal systems.
  • Assists in maintenance of government-owned railroad loading and switch areas.
  • Performs general housekeeping and ground maintenance for terminal, pipeline, and dock areas.
