About The Position

The Heavy Skill Operator performs advanced skilled production work involving pork products and product handling at the Logansport Plant. Example positions include Mule Driver, Forklift Operator, and Trayformer Operator. The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Work takes place in a manufacturing and processing environment that may be wet, humid, cold, hot, or otherwise variable, with temperatures ranging from approximately 35°F to over 100°F depending on the work area. This is a B Shift position. The posting is for new hires only and identifies November 2026.

Requirements

Have at least two months of work history with the same employer.
Be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Stand and walk for extended periods on concrete or other hard surfaces.
Frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and repetitively use hands and arms.
May need to climb ladders and work from elevated platforms.
Be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull materials as required, including lifting up to 150 pounds and pushing or pulling up to 140 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Production experience in a meat processing facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

Safely operate forklifts and other processing or material-handling equipment as required by the position.

Move, transport, and handle products and materials throughout the production process.
