About The Position

Lone Star Paving is a paving contractor operating in the Central Texas region. This role will work closely with the Milling, Asphalt, Trucking, and Maintenance Teams to ensure company-owned tools, equipment, and vehicles are maintained in good working order. The ideal candidate has experience with maintenance of diesel equipment, particularly trucking machinery, and knowledge of the asphalt and trucking industries.

Requirements

  • Trade school or 3-5+ years of qualified experience.
  • Valid and clear Commercial Driver's License.
  • Clear MVR and FMCSA Clearinghouse Query.
  • Must meet DOT employment requirements.
  • Work experience with diagnostics, maintenance, and operation of asphalt, milling, and trucking equipment and vehicles.
  • Must be organized with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Must be positive, friendly, and professional.
  • Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting.
  • Promote, execute, and adhere to the company's safety policy.
  • Work in a safe, responsible manner.
  • Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees.
  • Collaborate with project teams on special initiatives as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of asphalt production and associated equipment.
  • Understanding of asphalt operations and safety requirements.
  • Familiarity with MSHA and OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the condition of defective tools, equipment, and fleet vehicles at various locations.
  • Collaborate with the Equipment Manager in troubleshooting defective equipment and finding solutions.
  • Prepare cost estimates for extensive repairs and seek authorization before commencing.
  • Perform routine maintenance on company-owned tools, equipment, and vehicles according to a standard schedule.
  • Keep accurate logs of all maintenance performed.
  • Place approved orders for replacement parts with vendors and ensure proper paperwork is submitted.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly shop area at the end of each workday.
  • Support company efforts to achieve client loyalty through additional responsibilities as assigned.
