About The Position
QSL America is seeking a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic – Lead to join their maintenance team in New Orleans. This role combines field expertise with leadership responsibilities and offers the chance to work with large-scale material handling equipment critical to port logistics operations. The New Orleans Terminal is located along the Mississippi River at the Port of New Orleans and supports 24/7 high-volume cargo handling with a strong focus on safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 5+ years of heavy equipment maintenance experience
- Strong skills in diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems diagnostics
- Proficiency with CMMS systems (preferably Maximo)
- Valid driver’s license
- TWIC card required or ability to obtain
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergencies
Nice To Haves
- Leadership experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy mobile equipment (forklifts, cranes, loaders)
- Schedule and track maintenance tasks using CMMS (Maximo)
- Manage vendors and parts procurement as needed
- Ensure safety and ISO/HSSE compliance in all activities
- Mentor and support maintenance team members
