About The Position
Looking for a hands-on leadership opportunity in a dynamic logistics environment? QSL America, a key player in North American port logistics, is seeking a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic – Lead to join our maintenance team in New Orleans. This role combines field expertise with leadership responsibilities and offers the chance to work with large-scale material handling equipment critical to our operations. Work along the Mississippi River at the Port of New Orleans, one of the busiest trade gateways in the United States. Our maintenance team supports 24/7 high-volume cargo handling with a strong focus on safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 5+ years of heavy equipment maintenance experience
- Strong skills in diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems diagnostics
- Proficiency with CMMS systems (preferably Maximo)
- Valid driver’s license
- TWIC card required or ability to obtain
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergencies

- leadership experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy mobile equipment (forklifts, cranes, loaders)
- Schedule and track maintenance tasks using CMMS (Maximo)
- Manage vendors and parts procurement as needed
- Ensure safety and ISO/HSSE compliance in all activities
- Mentor and support maintenance team members
