About The Position
Our client in Sumner is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Heavy Machine Operator to operate equipment that cuts large sheets of metal to precise specifications. This is an early morning shift ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience operating heavy machinery or metal cutting equipment preferred
- Ability to read measurements and use basic measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work within a team and stay productive during early morning hours
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Reliable attendance and punctuality required
Responsibilities
- Operate metal cutting machinery to cut sheet metal accurately
- Read and interpret work orders, and measurements
- Load and position metal sheets onto machines safely and efficiently utilizing a forklift.
- Monitor machine performance and make basic adjustments as needed
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality and accuracy standards are met
- Perform routine maintenance and keep equipment clean and operational
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
