About The Position

Starfield LION is seeking a Cutting Machine Operator for their afternoon shift. This role is crucial in the manufacturing of PPE products for firefighters and first responders, specifically firefighter turnout suits and station wear. The company aims to protect firefighters and is looking for individuals who want to make a difference. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with evening shifts from Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM. The operator will be responsible for spreading patterns on fabric layers and cutting the fabric using various cutting devices.

Requirements

• Must be able to read and speak English.
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly - Using proper lifting techniques.
• Good communications skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
• Positive attitude and demonstrated ability to work well with a team.
• Self-motivated.
• Must be legally able to work in Canada and, where applicable, must have a valid work permit.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the textile industry considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operating electronic textile cutting machine.
• Spreading fabric in preparation for machine cutting.
• Assist with material handling.
• Assist with preparing materials for production.
• Read and follow provided cutting instructions.
• Other duties as needed.
