Machine Operator – Cutting Room
About The Position
The Herff Jones Cap and Gown team, based in Arcola, IL, is looking for a Full Time Machine Operator to join our team. Requirements
- Knowledge of basic math.
- Reading, writing, and math skills commensurate with job duties
- Must be self-motivated.
- Proficiency with Oracle, Excel, Word, and email
- Physical strength and dexterity to perform essential job functions.
- Ability to recognize colors and different styles of cloth styles
- Must be able to work all mandatory overtime
Responsibilities
- Help off-load and label cut parts to appropriate table for manufacturing
- Hand cuts all product lines with proficiency as needed.
- Operate the Forklift.
- Inspect material and product styles to make certain they correspond to the cutting ticket.
- Spreads cloth on cutting tables using various manual and automated spreading machines.
- Maintain material and spreading quality standards.
- Record material and time usage.
- Perform general operator asset care
- Operate the slicing and rewinding machine efficiently and safely.
- Keep the manufacturing floor stocked with sliced material.
- Stage appropriate sliced materials.
- Maintain the Material Room organization, housekeeping, and cleanliness.
