About The Position

Tucson Electric Power (TEP) is seeking a talented individual for the position of Heavy Equipment and Transport Operator. TEP provides safe, reliable electric service to approximately 414,000 customers in Southern Arizona and is committed to innovation, reshaping its energy portfolio, and expanding renewable power and energy-efficiency programs. This role is crucial for supporting the company's operations and community impact within the dynamic energy industry. The position requires the ability to learn and perform duties related to various tools and equipment, obtain and maintain necessary licenses, and complete task sign-offs within twelve months.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL within 60 days of hire.
Must obtain and maintain tanker, HAZMAT, and doubles/triples endorsements within one year of hire date.
Ability to follow instructions.
Ability to work in harmony with others.
Physically able to bend, stoop, and lift for extended periods of time.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Must have an Operating Engineer Journeyman Card, or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Crane Certification is preferred.
Crane Certifications of 75 tons or more.
High level of awareness and responsibility for environmental considerations that impact them, their jobs and the Company.

Responsibilities

Learn and perform required duties necessary to use all tools and equipment related to the work group.
Obtain and maintain necessary licenses to perform all the duties of this classification.
Complete task sign offs in twelve (12) months.
Familiarize with the Company's Safety Manual, Traffic Control Manual, Standards, accounting procedures, rigging procedures, heavy lifting procedures, and other procedures and applicable rules and regulations.
Successfully pass all training requirements (task sign offs).
Inspect and maintain equipment as required.
Load and secure loads on all equipment.
Responsible for loading and over-the-road transport.
Perform specific duties including, but not limited to: Pole hauling and removal, Pole-Hole digging, Excavation projects, Crane service, Coal Handling, Soil Cementing, Concrete Finishing, Demolition Projects, Over-the-road transport, Bulldozer and grader service.
Perform other tasks and assignments as directed.
Perform assigned work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with Company practices and procedures.
Provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.
