About The Position

We are seeking a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in Edmonton, AB. Our Heavy Equipment Technicians provide on-site repairs and builds for construction-related equipment, operating from a service truck to support customers in the field. This role requires strong diagnostic skills, employing logic and deductive reasoning to troubleshoot effectively. Base Wage: $52.70 per hour. Additional premiums apply. Location: Edmonton, AB and Remote Setting. Schedule: 7x7 or 14x14. This role reports to the Edmonton Branch at the start of each rotation and is not FIFO. The incumbent is provided a company vehicle and is paid travel time to get to site and back. Shift can vary dependent on the job site.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be a Heavy Equipment Technician, Journeyperson with 1-2 years experience working with construction equipment.
Experience in repair/maintenance of heavy equipment: construction equipment preferred; candidates with agricultural or on-road truck experience may be considered
Strong commitment to safety
Strong written and verbal communication
Some positions may require the ability to travel and meet customer site requirements
Valid Class 5 drivers license

Nice To Haves

Experience with Komatsu equipment is considered an asset
Interprovincial Red Seal is considered an asset

Responsibilities

Performing assemblies, preventative maintenance, repairs and complete overhauls on heavy equipment.
Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized or other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
Make recommendations regarding extent of repairs and suggest methods of improvement.
Think logically and keep up with changes in technology.
Interpret work order and technical manuals.
Complete job specific reports and paperwork as needed.
Have a strong awareness and attitude towards workplace health and safety.
Motivated and able to work in a challenging environment with minimal supervision.
Work remotely in adverse weather conditions. Job tasks may be physically demanding lifting up to 50 lbs. Confined Space work is required.
